Automated Test Engineer
Job Summary:
The Automated Test Engineer will work within the Dr Foster Quality team reporting directly to the Quality Manager. Guided by the quality strategy, the Quality Team work across the entire technology stack, responsible for automation and process design to provide quality assurance to all informatics products and services delivered by Dr Foster.
Flexibility, creative problem solving, excellent communication and a thorough analytical approach are key skills and qualities that are essential in the daily activities of this key quality role.
Key Duties and Main Responsibilities
Product Testing
- Ensure that all testing at Dr Foster is conducted in line with the Dr Foster Quality Strategy.
- Test Planning and Control.
- Test Analysis and Design.
- Test Implementation and Execution.
- Defect Management.
- Test Procedure and/or Script Execution.
- Test Exit Criteria and Reporting.
- Test Closure.
Build, Deployments & Automation
- Develop and maintain automated testing suites across the technical stack with particular emphasis on data, integration and functional Testing.
- Change control and configuration management of various environments.
- Develop and manage tools and processes used throughout the development and test cycle.
Quality Framework Management
- Supporting the Quality Manager in the development and refinement of the Quality Strategy and ensuring that lessons learned are fed back into the test process improvement cycle.
- Providing support and innovative solutions to the Quality Manager, the organisation and ultimately the Software Testing Life Cycle.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required (to be successful within the role)
Essential
- 5 years experience in a professional QA/Testing role.
- ISTQB Foundation (minimum).
- Proven experience of testing large volumes of data and web-based applications.
- Excellent communication skills group presentations, verbal and written.
- Proven experience of Automated Testing tools and process.
- Proven experience of Test and Defect Management tools and process.
- Proven experience of .NET (MVC), SQL and SSIS.
- Proven experience and understanding of Continuous Integration tools and process.
- Proven experience and understanding of Configuration Management tools and process.
Desired
- Experience and understanding of the SDLC including tools used to manage that process.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Informatics.
